About

Actor and
musician

Michael Koltes is an international actor and musician.

Born in Germany and raised around the world, Michael began singing and acting at the age of two. At eighteen he moved to London and studied acting at Central, performing in the West End playing Mozart and Louis XIV.

Not long after graduating he formed the chart-topping pop punk band Hypo Psycho, signed to Snapper Music by Brian Morrison. They played over 2,000 shows, performed on Top of the Pops, won one of the country's biggest battle of the bands, and opened for Wheatus and Maroon 5 among others.

After taking a break from music, Michael transitioned to screen acting and has earned over 100 credits worldwide. His Hollywood film appearances include Robin Hood and War Horse, and he starred as Louis Zamperini in the survival drama Adrift and as the lead Noah Benson in The Boston. He also doubled for Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows, and worked with Angelina Jolie on Disney's Maleficent. Recently he expanded his career into major Chinese cinema projects, securing roles in Watergate Bridge, Three-Body, Kashmir Princess, City of Chaos and many more.

In 2025 Michael began writing and recording music again, and has since released two albums in six months with another on the way.
